Please RSVP by Thursday if possible, to help them shop.
Have you thought about overnight cruising your boat, but never got around to it? Or just want to make sure the boat's ready for longer cruises? This easy cruise is designed for you. Experienced cruisers and land cruisers will enjoy it too!
Cruise seven calm miles into the San Rafael Canal, past stately homes, to the friendly San Rafael Yacht Club, with a huge guest dock with shorepower and no docking fees. The creek has depth for powerboats; sailors should choose your tide.
Car cruisers are welcome. However you're coming, please RSVP by Thursday so they can shop.
Boat home before lunch to avoid the 2:30 pm low tide, or stick around for Sunday Brunch and SRYC's Father's Day activities.
This is a perfect one night cruise for first-timers. Boats will leave Paradise Cay in a group Saturday at 3 pm. Or come any time, including Friday night for SRYC's happy hour, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Or drive in Saturday for the party.
Boating directions: From main channel marker 17, proceed westerly along the dredged channel. The best guide is the range markers at the west end of the channel, once visible. Until then keep around 50' north of the green daymarkers, more or less, and watch your depth as it shallows to both sides. Keep to port when passing the side channel to Loch Lomond Marina on starboard. After that, watch the range markers, not the daymarkers.
Depths and tides: The San Rafael Canal has at least 3.5 feet depth at all tides, and 5 feet plus and rising when we arrive. Tide graph is below.
