Privacy Policy

This privacy policy lets you know how this website collects and uses personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, phone numbers, email address, boat information and, for members, information about yourself and your family.  We collect this information when you apply for membership or register for an event.

This information is used to conduct the business of the club.  It is not used, shared with or sold to other organizations, except: to our service providers, as required to operate the website and the club; to law enforcement agencies, in emergencies or where required by court order or search warrant; or when we have your permission.  TYC House Rule VIII states:

VIII. COMMERCIAL USE- No Club membership list, email list, book, or record may be used for commercial purposes or in any manner not related to Club business.

Some items of your personal information are visible to members when logged into their accounts on the web site, but not to others: for example, the Membership Directory and lists of registrants for events.

You may view, change and update your personal information by editing your profile when logged into your account.

When you pay by credit card, we ask for credit card information and provide it to the credit card clearing company.  We do not store that information on our website and do not have access to it.

When you visit this website, cookies may be placed on your computer by our site hosting software or a third party.  To log into this website as an administrator or a member, you need to enable cookies (which most browsers do by default).

We may record your computer’s IP address when you visit this site, and track when you receive and read email communications from us.

We may include certain widgets (e.g., social share buttons) on some of our web pages. The third parties that own these widgets may have access to information about your browsing on those pages, and may place cookies on your computer or device. You may wish to review information at the third party site, such as social media platforms where you have an account, to determine how these third parties collect and treat such information.

You may have configured your web browser to send a "Do Not Track" signal to websites you visit.  It is voluntary for a website to recognize these signals, and the platform that hosts our website does not do so at this time.

This policy is effective July 9, 2015.  Material changes in the policy will be posted on the Privacy Policy page of our website and, when significant, emailed to all currently registered users of the website.
