Program: Keeping you Safe Around the Bay

U.S. Coast Guard personnel on San Francisco Bay save lives; monitor shipping around the Bay, upriver and out to sea; interdict illegal drugs, hazardous materials and contraband; and maintain navigation aids up and down the coast. They operate from several locations around the Bay, including Coast Guard Station San Francisco on Yerba Buena Island, where they first arrived in 1873.

Nationwide, with fewer uniformed members than the NYPD, the Coast Guard protects the U.S. and numerous overseas ports from maritime safety and security incidents. 

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the USCG’s varied local missions and their relationship with the Bay Area.  Speaker: Petty Officer Cree Townsend, USCG

Bar Opens: 5:30PM

General Meeting: 6:30PM

Dinner and Presentation: 7:00PM

You need not have dinner to attend the meeting and presentation!
