The film series Life on the Water brings to the screen the world of marinas, harbors, houseboats and anchor-outs, a unique, constantly shifting, community inhabited by exceptional individuals. World famous adventurers, artists, philosophers, businessmen, and professionals have made this world at the edge of society their refuge, their home and their source of inspiration.

Tiburon Yacht Club is proud to present a screening of two of these remarkable portraits of Sausalito personalities:

Hank Easom, Portrait of a Legend:  A highly-respected San Francisco Bay area legend, Easom has been a part of the waterfront for over 70 years.  He won his first trophy at the age 11. In 1971 Hank, owner of Easom Boatworks in Sausalito, was awarded the prestigious Yachtsman of the Year from the St. Francis Yacht Club, and honored again as YOTY in 2014, this time from the San Francisco Yacht Club. Even in his 80s, Hank is still out there racing – and winning – in his 1937 8-meter sloop, Yucca.

Ron MacCannan's Pursuit: Macannan is the proud owner of one of the most impeccable vessels in the Sausalito harbor: an M Class 82' Sloop named Pursuit.  A truly one-of-a-kind beauty, her appearance and lines cause tourists to stop in their tracks. In this portrait Ron tells his story of how he acquired Pursuit, his unique part in Sausalito's history, and the wisdom earned by years of simply aiming for the horizon.

Presenter: Director Oleg Harencar: An award winning documentary and feature filmmaker, Oleg studied film at the State University of New York in Buffalo under James Blue, Oscar nominated director and Cannes Film Festival winner.  He has worked on films for BBC; directed a fashion TV program, Moda Bum, with portraits of Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace and the Fendi sisters in Milan, and co-wrote, directed and produced a feature film, Bloodlines, with actors Rudolf Martin, Oscar-nominee Sally Kirkland, and Emmy-nominated Max Gail.
