What changes or additions to the Weather page would you like to see?

Bill, Eric and I are working to restore the wind sensor to the spit, so that the page will again reflect conditions at the club.

I've created a more mobile-friendly wind-only page at http://tyc.org/Wind.  It can be bookmarked and/or added to the Race menu.  Is this helpful?  Any suggestions?

Our weather software provides a number of displays, but I don't think any of them would be helpful additions to the ones already on our weather page.  But if you want to see what's available, here are the manual pages.

    Suggestions?  Comments?

    Walt,

I rather like the big box currently on our weather page.  The 2nd image down on page 1 of the manual looks very similar.

As a racer, I look for wind direction and speed with gust information as well.  That's all I really need.  Maybe that equates to the dial image on the 3rd page.

    Ian -

The dial is already on our page.  The red legend and arrow show present conditions, and the green dots are a 24 hour plot.

I'll change its title to clarify.

Edit:  But it doesn't show gusts.  I'm not sure our equipment reads gusts accurately anyway.  But I did take the repaired wind vane out on a drive yesterday and it's reasonably accurate up to 40 mph - maybe 5-10% low at that point which I think is close enough, right?

Thanks for taking this on, Walt.  We concur with Ian, we like the box with the wind speed, direction and gusts.  That's what we mainly use.  People visiting from other locales would appreciate air temperature and the rest of the data.  Tidal current and tide heights are nice, but we have that on our phones.

Because we use 13" laptops and iPads the more you can keep on a single page without having to scroll down, the better.

Is a web cam out of the question?  There is one we like on top of Corinthian Island that shoots a still shot every 5 min and has the air temp, barometer and windspeed and gusts superimposed on the image.  Here's the link, it is the 3rd image down on the page:  http://www.rntl.net/tiburoncam.htm

Susie, a webcam is a different project but very doable.  We can look at this.  I'm not sure about adding the weather info on top of the image; is that important?

I've put the wind page on the website menu under Weather.  You can also bookmark it as http://tyc.org/Wind .

If you want things added, removed or moved around on that page, just let me know how you would like it set up.  It's easy to do.
